Request for information (WOO request)

The Netherlands Authority for Consumers and Markets (ACM) publishes its decisions and rules on its website. If you would like to know about something we have not (or not yet) published, you can file a request for information with us.

On this page:

What is a request for information?

With a request for information, you ask us to publish certain information. This does not mean that we will send all that information straight away. We will first assess whether that information can be published at all. In most cases, a request for information is a request under the Dutch Open Government Act (in Dutch: Wet Open Overheid, or WOO).

How do I file a request for information with ACM?

Please send your request for information to the following email address: acm-post [at] acm [punt] nl (acm-post[at]acm[dot]nl). If you prefer sending it by regular mail, please send it to the following postal address:

The Netherlands Authority for Consumers and Markest (ACM)
P.O. Box 16326
2500 BH The Hague
The Netherlands

Please indicate clearly what information you wish to receive and from what period. We will let you know if we have received your request.

Any questions regarding a submitted request (or the status thereof) can be sent to acm-post [at] acm [punt] nl (acm-post[at]acm[dot]nl). If you have any other questions, you can also contact us by calling us, for example if you wish to know if certain information can be found on the website.

How does ACM handle my request for information?

When handling requests for information, we always check whether we are allowed to publish the information that you request. Sometimes, we cannot publish that information or only parts thereof.

We handle requests for information within four weeks. If we need more time, we will let you know.

At the end of the process, you will receive an email or a letter with the information that you requested. If you do not receive the information you requested (or only a part thereof), we will explain why.

What rules does ACM apply to requests for information?

We assess certain requests for information under the WOO (in Dutch). Other requests are assessed under the Establishment Act of the Netherlands Authority for Consumers and Markets (in Dutch). Which of these acts will be used depends on the information that you request.
